Our Mission

An organization geared toward the emotional, physical, and economical security of young creatives through holistic recreation, life skills, and but not limited to prayer infused blankets.

About Our Founder

Alexis Spight is formally known as the fiery young red-haired, three-time Stellar Award Winning, NAACP Image Awards, and Grammy Award considered Gospel recording artist from Houston TX. In such a short period of time Alexis has become one of hottest trailblazers in the industry. Her unique talents have afforded her major TV performances, appearances in large arenas, churches, and outdoors venues throughout the United States.

After overcoming adversities like homelessness, insecurities, material losses, and consecutive deaths, above all else, Alexis aspires to encourage, uplift, inspire, and provoke change through the message of sound God has given her, while reminding the outcast that they are not cast out. Alexis is currently prepping for the release of her highly anticipated album titled “All Is Not Lost”. Be looking out for release date coming soon!

Why did you start The Cover Me Foundation?

Though only having a short 8 year tenure as a creative entrepreneur, experiences early on affirmed the reality that I did not know the rudiments of the business aspect of my creativity. Thus, as a young creative, I sought out advice from my industry’s hierarchy and was furthermore suggested normalcy in terms of the process. Determined to change the narrative, God gave me the vision of a house for creatives to run to for safety, insight, and an overall covering.

How did you get the name of the foundation?

Postponing experiences like homelessness, rejection, and betrayal (even as what some would call a primitively-thriving creative)  it was my passion to omit the feelings of unawareness in terms of the social, mental, spiritual and financial leverage needed to cultivate creative success. The Cover Me foundation provides the creative resources and economical insight needed to bypass difficulties. As a holistic organization composed of leaders, we instill service as our primitive leadership skill; Therefore, we accept donations to purchase blankets and collectively infuse them with prayers, and inscribe the words “You’re Covered” and a scripture, reminding every outcast to society, every sick person, everyone in need that they are covered spiritually and naturally. I remember sleeping in the airport with a blanket and cognitively escaping to my own bed… or admitting in a cold hospital to a warm blanket..; Ive learned that being all #Covered just feels like home.

What is your goal for the foundation?

My ultimate goal is to change the trajectory of future creative legacies for the underserved. One day the young creatives we mentor today will teach our children and their children. I imagine a generation of young and wise creatives who’s creativity and business successes align.
